exhaust - bending welding?
Hey... Im lookin for an exhaust. And have been offered rear sections for 92-95 hatchs.. but they say it will take modification to fit a 98 hatch, what kinda mods are we talkin here> sections cut out?> and how hard would it be to mod a coupe rear section to fit a hatch? be better to just cut the muffler off and re weld on a new pipe? can they just bend the pipe at the weld shop to fit a hatch?
Unless you're getting that system way cheap it may not be worth it.
Buy a muffler (summit racing has some killer deals), and if you can't weld yourself, take it to a muffler guy and have him bend you a pipe from the cat back.
I did the exhaust on my 99 from the manifold back for under $200 including the muffler from summit. But I did all the welding and bending of the exhaust tubing myself. It's nice having a kick ass set of tools.

Unfortunately, crush bending is far from the best way to do things.
