not really, it's not that far off, a good or great snr is 105 db down. A very quiet room with almost perfect silence other than the drivers a very acute listener can hear as low as 95db, the difference between 95 and 105 is almost undiscernable. 95db is about 50pw(pico watts, 10e-9) of interference on a 1 watt signal, or about 4uv(micro volts, 10e-6) of noise on a 1 volt signal, or 99.994000% accurate. 105 db is about 1uv(micro volt, 10e-6) of @ 1 volt, or about 50fm(femto watts, 10e-12) @ 1 watt power or 99.999000% accurate. If your ears can tell the difference between 95db and 105db or 99.999% and 99.994% accurate you're a god!!!!!! Let alone a driver(speaker) accurate enough to discern .000004 volts and .000001 volts is pretty amazing. Although SNR does add up, and it's almost exponential.
Anyhow, long story short, the difference between 95 and 105db is negligable.

eh, my old pioneer deck was 94db.
my new clarion deck is 100, and my JL audio amp powering my mids and highs is 108.5
needless to say, I could tell much a difference between when my pioneer deck was running the amp, to where my clarion deck is now. Clarity is practiclly two times greater.
