Brighter bulbs have lower resistance and will therefore make your turn signals blink faster. But IMHO this is WAY ghetto!

I don't know why you'd want to blink faster...how about you just shove some xenon orange bulbs in your clear corners and call it a day. That should annoy people just as much too. Seriously, if a 3G Teg is blinking fast, I tend to laugh at them...it looks stupid and will attract attention from the po because they think your car has a burnt out light.

are you gonna put in superwhite bulbs for your turn signals too?

ok, there's a ton of speculation here as to how the blinker works in a honda. Newer ones use a current mirror. They use a nand gate with a sense resistor on one side of the gate hooked up to the lights, and a reference resistor on the other side. When the current drops on the light source it triggers fast blink mode for the electronic timer which causes the lights to blink fast. Pulling more current won't do anything. Putting higher wattage(less resistance) bulbs won't trigger fast blink. However putting lower resistance LED bulbs in will trigger fast blink, because it thinks you have a bulb missing due to the lessor current. There is a resistor used for the timer circuit(part of an RC timer) you can change the R which will speed up or slow down the blink. THe easiest way is to open up the blinker module and replace the resistor for the RC timer with a potentiometer so you can change the rate to whatever you want. I did this because I put LED turn bulbs in and coudln't handle the fast blink so I installed a pot to slow it down, mine is a little slower than stock. I also have a high heat(5watt) resistor in parallel with my brake lights to stop the car from thinking I have a brake light out.

Here's a good how to site. http://www.andrews.edu/~johnsonm/how...erblinker.html

all you have to do is replace your blinker fluid with a synthetic blend and it will add speed to your blinker

however, resistors are rated by wattage and resistance. for your blinkers you'll have to measure how much current is being absorbed by the relay and lights. you can use an ammeter or ask someone. if you have trouble and are serious, ask me and i'll find out for you.. only after you try yourself.

once you know that, you can find the power rating you'll need.

Power = Voltage * Current.

go to radio shack or any electronic store and get the desired resistance with a power rating higher than what's needed. this is to assure yourself that the resistor will not burn.

ex.) let's say your factory resistor is 1000ohm at 8.5 watts, and you want a quicker blink.. you'll try to find a resistor of 500ohm (2 times quicker blinking) at 9 watts or whatever is the next available increment.

good luck :thumbup:
By far, this is probably the most elaborate and proper explanation for this "mod".

I might try this to get my blinker to blink slower...

its easy as.........saying..........fast..............ok u take out the the blinker light and u check for wire.........there three wire.......or three plug..........some car has two wire only and some cars has three wire............thoes car that have two wire.......just disconnect the middle one and reconnect to the fartes one from the connect one..............cars that have three wire.....example civic......just umm....cut the middle one............yah cut the middle one.....that it......do it.....it will work......i bet u on that............
