Default Paint job time! And pearl??

OK, give me your thoughts on this. I have a 93 Civic coupe that I'm going to repaint white. I'm stuck on whether or not to add pearl to it. I'm spending about $2000 on this and would like it to stand out so you can tell it's a new paint job. Some of my concerns are that it won't look right when I tint the windows and get darker rims. Should I add pearl to it?? Does anyone have pictures of how it would look?

Unless you want to spend a lot on a paint job, I'd get the pearl to hide some imperfections (orange peal and what not). This is a trick Toyota is using with the Scions, if you notice none of their paint selections are non metallic or pearl. If you look closer you notice their paint is thin (I think they only use a 1 coat of color and 1 coat of clear coat--eek). Oh well.

99SOHCEX - that's a nice looking color! Can you really see the blue?

The guy doing my bodywork is fixing every single imperfections and rust. He said I can add the pearl for around $50. Because I'm spending so much already, I wanted to add something to make the job look more custom. Just not sure if it's going to be to sparkly.

thanx. i didn't do the engine bay because i ran out of money at the time i had it painted. the paint plus the pearl costed $600 and that includes the bodyshop to do the work. my friend got me a hook up at a paint shop so i guess i got a good deal. the pearl was included but i think you are right about it. i do plan to do the engine bay hopefully in the near future but am not really in a hurry.

during the day you can the color is what you see, but by night it looks like a gray...until light hits it. a pearl is basically a second colorthat is combined with the base color. the second color, the pear, is what gives the car that shine like everyone likes.
