BELIEVE ME !!!!!!!! If you have any other questions on detailing your car email me : cypprim@aol.com
A claybar's a waste of effort? Haha, I definately disagree with that statement. I would trust that on Tree Sap a lot more than an alcohol that could remove paint, and damage clear coat.

your one of them "types" that just do what everyone els is tryin,.. do you know what a clay bar is used for? Does it say you can use it on tree sapp,.. if you know anything the sapp,..it will brake down the clay bar you idot ! see how long the clay bar last ,.. I guess you have all the money in the world to keep bying clay bars..

the reason why clay bars cost so much for something so freakin small,.. is beacuse it works !! ONLY to keep the trash ( gravel dirty ) from staying in the clear coat ! if you don't believe why is it when you wipe you hand on the rear bumper and trunk you feel sand in the clear coat and not on the sides or roof of the car? the motion of the car or van or truck kicks up dirty and what ever on the road put and up wards with the wind drag,... dirt and small ass gravel has edges,.sharp edges,.. so it sticks to the clear coat. Once you accidently drop your clay bar,.. Throw it AWAY !!!
its no good,.. you'll end up messin up the clear coat and see scratches every were you move the clay

BY THE WAY MR. DISAGREE WITH MY STATEMENT..... I SAID DINATRULIZE ALCOHOL . NOT PLAIN ALCOHOL !!!!!!!!!!! There is a VERY BIG DIFFERNECE.... can anyone say ingredients ?!
ITS CLEANER with not the hard crap thats in plain alcohol. Hate to see that 94 white Accord EX of yours...

Clay bars are used to clean contamination off of the surface of paint. Go to autopia.org and type what you just said. I would never touch the surface of my paint without cleaning contamination off of it. Alcohol is in quick detailers, but this does not get the paint smooth. Yes, a wash and a quick detailer used after gets the paint much cleaner than just a wash. However, if you are going to use a random orbital buffer such as a PC 7424 or a rotary such as a PC 7248 and you do NOT clay bar, you will be rubbing contamination into the paint. THIS causes scratches. You are full on about not using dropped clay bars, but this is why I always tell people to cut the bar into halves, or thirds. If you are going to list information or advice here, back it up.

cypprim, I can get one claybar to last for a good 3 full car's with enough lube. Cutting it into thirds is what I do. Tree sap breaks down the claybar? Never seen that in any of my cases. No shit about dropping the claybar and not using it, who the **** are you? Einstein? ****ing idiot, thinking I wouldn't know that. Haha, you'd hate to see my car. I can guarantee it's contamination free, with no swirl marks, super glossy, heavily wax protected and very slick due to a good caranuba wax I use. BIATCH. Damn, I hate ****ing stupid good for nothing noobs like you.

Just calm down you two 10 year olds, if you use a wax with teflon in it, and wax your car somewhat often after you wash it not much you do should damage your paint, plus i think someone with seven years of detailing exp. knows a tiny bit more...olong:
