Can anyone compete???
I'm working on making my car a Glow-off competitor. Not sure why, but one day I was bored, so I wired up around 150 neon lights, setup a custom fuse panel, with a circuit breaker, and popped in an Optima Yellow Cap Battery with Isolator for my stock Champion battery. Does anyone know how many neons the top glow-off competitors have on their cars??? Are the rods visible at all, because I do have some visible on my ceiling, so I'm going to do fabric around them, however, I was curious as to what the rules are and I can't find them anywhere... also, what do you guys have done to your cars??? I'm looking for as many ideas as possible. I figure that I can stand to hook up another 100 neons if need be to get a better glow, but neon rods aren't exactly cheap, even though I am a distributor for Lite Glow and Quest...
"glow off" hmmm i'm not sure about that one "lighting challenges" yeah i've seen those. the only thing i can account for is whateva tubes you get on your car it looks tacky to have them showing. i guess in a "glow off" it might be different since you have more tubes. but most show cars that enter the "lighting challenges" rarely have their tubes exposes except maybe the ones that are part of the sound systems. most interior and definitely exterior lighting are hidden with the HALO of light covering the area

I think you are taking the lyrics to "This Little Light Of Mine" a lil too seriously. But if you insist, shine on, dude, shine on!

They have a message board for this type of crap no one here is really into that kind of thing.
Oh and when you do this remember to upgrade your alternator..I have a friend thats into this and he keeps blowing his up and refuses to upgrade his charging system because "it costs too much"

I do have them really well hidden. Whenever someone asks me how many rods I have, I tell them to tell me, and they only tell me about 10 usually. So, I guess that means they are hidden pretty decently. See, the thing is, my store that I have sells a ton of neon, so it's more of a store promotion thing with the neons than anything, but I figured it was kinda fun, so what the hell.
I did upgrade the alternator, unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to add an extra battery before I take it to competition, which I would want to do anyway, because it would be much better in the long run.
