Default gettin car painted soon i think....

hey everyone i have a 95 civic coupe, and i blew my motor last night so i think im goin to swap and get my car painted. im lookin to get the whole car painted inside and out and the engine bay, so im gunna try to get it done before i put the new engine in... im wondering wat might be rough prices for gettin this done if the shop does the prep, and prices if i were to do all the prep and just have a shop paint it. also im in richmond virginia and wondering if anyone has any recommendation for a shop around here to do this??? im lookin at gettin the car painted a gunmetal color. possibly like the BMW gunmetal, ne other suggestions on a nice dark grey or gunmetal color?? thanx for ne info

From experience at reputable shops you are looking at $3k and up depending on what you want. Best bet is to go to a few shops, and let them see the condition of the current paint. Then discuss exactly what you want. If they have to strip the old paint down to the metal your looking at more cost. If the original paint is able to be sanded, and painted over it's considerably cheaper. I know the engine is blown, and you can't drive it. But, the current paints condition, and the quality of job you want determines the price. Do you want just a decent paint job, or one with no runs, no dirt under the paint etc?
