Yea, I was also wondering how saving weight is over rated.

because it aint a whole lot a weight.. 20lbs? yea.. gonna cut a few seconds off the 1/4 time with that right? :ghey: and its ugly.. now if the entire car was carbon fiber.. then i see the value in it..

4-500 bucks can be better used elsewhere..

Well, if you're going to do it for visual effect only, it's probably not worth the $500. It's all relative though. It would look good with other carbon fiber bits, black wheels, etc. I'm not saying it'll make a world of difference, but every bit DOES count. Whether you care about it or not, so think it's :ghey: all you want.

I guess when they shaved 147lbs from the GSR to make the Type R, that was pretty :ghey: too, right?

If you care that much about weight reduction on the front end, take out the A/C. Those components total 60lbs combined h:

That's all fine & dandy, one could do that too. Fact still remains, you'll save weight by going CF hood. Isn't that what this thread is about?

you save a lot....my friend told me his stock hood was about 50lbs. and from what ive heard most CF hoods are about or less than 10lbs.

be sure to use precaution when using CF hoods.

20 lbs weight saving overrated? maybe if youre into trailer queens of the "show circuit"

sure, the CF hood by itself isnt much to brag about saving weight.... but when you get a CF hood, take out the AC, cruise control, and gut the interior, they all add up to a good amount of weight savings. my car has no ABS, AC, CC to begin with, so after swapping out for a CF hood and gutting my interior, my car was as light as civic coupe...and i have a 4door Integra.

ugly or not, thats an aesthetic opinion. but this is about weight reduction and yes the CF hood helps... again, not by itself alone, but in the overall quest to reduce weight, its one of the major factors.
