Default carbon fiber...

I was wondering about carbon fiber quality.....
when they say "GRADE A carbon fiber"
did anyone think about that fact that this rating system may not even exist?

just wondering.

i would like to know who made up this grading system... is it just something informally made up by sellers or is there an actual grading system? like dimaonds definalty have color grades, but i've heard jewlwer say "this diamond is 1syt class grade quality" in fact there are no classes ...

www.wholehyper.com has a little info on the "grading" system. But there are some really bad CF hoods out there. Some that are so thin that you could see right through them.

If you are shopping for a CF hood and you don't trust the grading system, I'd suggest that you get a look of the hood yourself. Some of the key areas where a CF hood is good, is rolled edges, a really strong latch and a good gelcoat/clearcoat on it.

I figured I would get a response like that, but hey. People in shows put stupider shit than see-thru hoods on their cars.
