Default Painting my Steering wheel?

Hey everyone, I've just ordered an OEM leather wheel wrap and unfortunately, they only come in black (damn :eh: ). So now i'm interested in painting my wheel black to match (its scuffed anyways). Should I just follow the prep instructions provided for painting the rest of the dash (degreaser, sand, use vinyl paint)?

Will it turn out looking anywhere near OEM?

Any feedback will be extremely appreciated.

Thanks,
-Rodney
