I am planning on painting the hood of my car (which i had to replace) to match the rest of the car. I can get single stage paint a lot cheaper than doing the traditional paint then clear coat. I was thinking of doing this because I have a 98 with the factory paint job (silver) and I didn't want a hood looking newer than the rest of the car .

I have never heard/seen much on single stage paint, will it still look good? Or should I spend the extra money? Also, with single stage, how many coats and when do I sand? Any help would be great, thanks!
