I sued Maaco a few years back after they did a crappy job on my car. The owner originally agreed to re-paint the front bumber but when I bought the car in, he all of a sudden refused to do the work that he promised. I came very close to getting into a fight with him in the parking lot. I thought about it and told the owner that I was going to sue him if he did not do the work that was promised. He started talking all big and bad "sue me I don't care". The thing is he must of forgot that I had in writing that he promised to repair the car. I went to court and not only did I sue him for the bumber that he promised to paint (a whole $114 dollars), but for the entire price of the paint job $1244.00. As we sat in court and I provided all of my evidence, he realized that things were going south for him very quickly and told the judge that he would repair my car as promised. The judge asked if I would be ok with this, my reply "absolutely not". I told the judge that I felt that he and his establishment were incapable of doing a good and I did not feel comfortable with doing business with him any longer. The judge awarded me the entire cost of the paint job ($1244.00). You should have saw the look on his face. We actually parked in the same lot at the courthouse and had to walk to our cars in close proxemity. I thought the guy was going to cry. I hope he learned his lesson. All that trouble for a $114 dollar job that he promised to do in the first place. So what did I get, a $1244.00 down payment on a new paint job.

nice job dood! way to fuck him over. my buddy's del sol was sprayed by a maaco and the original cost was supposed to be around 300 but when the guy checked it out he said he'd have to do about another 500 dollars in body work which was bs because my buddy knows how to do his own body work and was nothing wrong with his car, when he got it back the car had orange peel spots and the paint ran and there was overspray everywhere, i will never look towards a maaco for a possible spray job in my lifetime.

your boys, brothers, uncles, sisters, nephew that knows a boy at macco. sorry, couldnt help it. we here at expert auto collision in massillon, ohio will paint your entire car, for a whimpy $2000. more for your jambs. if thats not a good perspective, 200 vs. 2000 for basically the same thing. 200 wouldnt pay for the painter alone, nore would it pay for the paint alone, that wont even cover the cost of running the booth long enough to paint an entire car.

well if you actually took the time to READ #1 - The entire car wasn't painted only the front bumper and hood, #2 - All the paint and equipment was used at the shops expense (yea it was wrong but o well what they don't know won't hurt em) and #3 - That was a sorry excuse to put your "expert auto collision blah blah...." out there........you can tell your boys, brothers, uncles, sisters, nephew that knows a boy at expert auto collision blah blah to kiss my ass........ ok im done

They are franchises, that get a discount for being a franchise on all their supplies. I do not think you people realize that you can get a shitty paint job anywhere. I have seen quite a few that came from top of the line shops. So if every Maaco is independently owned and operated then it is the same crap shoot you take with any bodyshop. I think it is like stated you get what you pay for. I know a guy that works at a Maaco here in town, I am willing to bet he can do just as good if not better job then some of these top shops. So do your research or ask for a list of customer references, do you homework and then determine what would be the best and cost effective paint job for your needs.
