Default Rota Slipstreams

Ok, I have been looking to get a set of 17 inch slipstreams and have looked a pictures of them and the most popular I have seen are the 15's with a large profile tire. Is that the style or is there more function than what I am seeing. Are the rims so weak that require a little more meat for protection against are sh*tty roads? My buddy has a set of 17's on his WRX with low pro's with no prob. Just wondering, I am new to the import seen but have done my fair share of customizing on other vehicles.

I know they are kinda played out but I like them and I have never seen them on a civic where I am at surprising enough, So CAL

You've never seen a set in Socal? Do you not go out? 15" for hondas in basically the most cost/weight efficent size..although most people just buy it cus it looks better. 15" wheels have better tire choices and they cost less. The wheels also weigh less and generally fit civics/integras better. Personally, i think anything over 16" is too big.
