Default rust problem

i am in the process of fixing the body of my 91 accord and i have rust that starts at the rear wheel wells and continues through the back bumper. the rust around the wheel wells is not horrible but is noticable. does anyone have any information on fixing such a problem?

I just did it to mine... I took a grinder and put on a sanding wheel and took out all of the rust. Down to the bare metal and in some place all the way through which left some big holes.. If you the holes are not to big, go with bondo and patch it up nice.... Sand it down and get it painted. If its to big then you may have to get a welder to put some pieces in!! Took me 3 days to get it completed... not so hard..

Take a look at the products on this site: http://www.por15.com/ I used them with reasonably good results on my first car. The problem with rust is that it comes back if you don't get every last microscopic bit of it. Chemical agents are often the easiest way to take care of it 100%.

If you see rust coming to the surface, that means there is a reason for it. Im my case the wheel well protectors were taken out and repeated water rusted it from the inside to the out. So if you see surface rust, most likely when you begin to sand it down you will see that it is a bigger problem then you anticipated. If your lucky it hasn't gotten bad yet...
