Default 98 honda accord headlamp looking foggy

I don't know if you've already talked about this or not but I have a problem with my 98 honda accord headlamp. It used to be yellow -- I read a previous forum how it could be fixed -- and I fixed the problem but discovered that there's a new problem.

The way I removed the yellow from the headlamp was that I used a soft cloth and wiped the headlamp with nailpolish-remover that contained acetone and it came right off. I saw the yellow on the cloth and it surprised me. The new problem is that when I wiped the cloth across the headlamp, it left some foggy streaks that resemble oil but it's not. It's really strange and I don't know how to fix it. Help?

The headlamp looks like someone smeared something all over it...I'm sorry, I don't know how else to explain it.

is that a plastic headlight? if it is, you just disolved some of the plastic. You may have to wetsand it to polish it back out. Use plenty of water as you sand with 600-2000 grit paper.

If you want to clean the plastic on the exterior, buy the convertible plastic window cleaner. I believe meguilars sells one, about $8 USD. I also use it for my headlights and it works great!

I wonder, does anybody else have any suggestions? I still haven't gotten to try the convertible plastic cleaner but I'll make sure to give it a try sometime soon.

this is the most logical answer. acetone makes plastic melt like crazy. it just needs to be buffed, wet-sanded out.
