Default My hatch painted

Got my 93 eg civic hatch repainted and all the rust cut out and new metal put in. Heres the pics my autobody guy took and some after pics.

Rear fenders had been 'fixed' previously without cutting out the rust, just welding new metal over it and using a ton of bondo

The bondo was a quarter inch think in some places

Rust all the way down to the side skirts. I got 2000 SIR sides modified to fit. The problem was that the metal where the clips attached on the car was rusted that last foot so new metal had to be put in there also

Blurry pic of new metal for the side skirts to attach

Here you can see how far it had gone, not just on the fenders but in the wheel well. But happily the replacement steel was large enough for the fenders.

Looking up from in the fender. The rear passenger side was worse than the driver side.

New metal on. Beautiful. Welded on the underside and behind the bumper and some kind of epoxy attaching it to the fender. No bondo used.

Bumper and tailgate getting smoothed out. Got rid of the civic sticker and H decal. The car has about 290 km's so many dings etc on the body were fixed.

Door handles and the rear spoiler to be painted body colour. Also I picked up some spoor replica's as my car is a dx so it had no passenger mirror.

00 SIR(canadian) SI(US)side skirts. I cut off about two inches so they would fit and did all the drilling for that clips. Then melted the end plastic peice so it would be closed at the front by the front wheel wells. Think it worked out pretty good.

Front bumper and wings west lip. Got the lip used, it was a nasty sparkle purple colour. Cut out all the webbing on the front bumper for a nice open look and maybe for future intercooler. Also smoothed out and filled the licence plate holes.

Sides and bumper primered.

Rear bumper, front lip and spoiler primered.

Front passenger panel and bumper. We used a new panel for the passenger side as the old one was pretty banged up

Getting ready for paint. Back windows removed to avoid paint peeling in the future.

Shaved antenna and put a new one on the center of the roof in the back. The car had been painted one or two times before, and each time the pain was not sanded down much. So my painter/body guy took off quite abit of paint especially on this side

Finished product. Not too clean as I drive on a dirt road for 1 km everyday and its a pain to keep clean, especially when its wet out.

...

Integra rad...

Rear quarter panels look like new

I was going to add a rear lip but it wouldn't work with exhaust. The exhaust has to be fixed, it has a stupid angle exiting, but that should be easy enough.

Fog lights are from my old gsr integra that go crashed up. I cut apart the housing because it was broken and managed to get the projectors out. After a little grinding and some clear silicone to seal them, this is what I had. Just have to make them yellow.

...

All done

Plan to get orange corners and side markers, make the fogs yellow, and thats if for the exterior.

Tell me what you think
Thanks
Vince

That looks great. That was pretty bad rust there. How much did that all run you?

The metal came from somewhere in denmark for about $80 canadia a side, and it is made for the specific car model.

It costed ab out 2500 canadian for everything, cf hood etc,

The engine will have to wait until the current one dies. d15 with 290 k and does not burn a drop of oil.

I have a baby on the way, so nothing really get upgraded until it dies. Hoping the shocks go so I can get some coilovers and when the engine goes I'll probably get the d15b, cheap and reliable

Thanks

Nice hood. I was thinking of getting the hood painted similar to yours, and may still do it. Did you have to do alot of clear coast to blend it where the paint stops on the hood?

Nice hatch Clean install on those projectors, but you might want to have some mesh or something down there.
