Default need help with buffing!

me and a friend just got done paintin my car 2 sundays ago. this past sunday we decided we would wetsand any orange peel etc... and buff it. so we wetsanded it with 2000 grit and buffed it with a variable speed buffer with 3m rubbin compound and then followed it up with 3m final glaze. after we were done, i noticed when the sun hit the car, i could still see the sand marks. it was def. smoother but i dont wanna see the sand marks in my new paint. what did i do wrong? should i get a more agressive rubbin compound or do they make something specific for darker vehicles(cypress green pearl)
