Default aftermarket mirror install

sorry if it's on here somewhere i searched but i couldn't find it. I think i have to remove the door skin but i don't know how any help even a link will help. It's a 97 ls with power mirrors

I believe you could pry the cover panel off. A flat head screwdriver wrapped in protective should do the trick.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to take of the whole door skin. Just the cover that covers up 3 nuts that hold on the mirror.

From my experience, there are 3 bolts, 2 of which can be accessed without pulling the door, one is a bit tougher to reach.

Some aftermarket mirrors don't even use bolts, you'd have to use screws, and it's not secure.
