Default What exactly stinks and how do I clean it?

Car's got 98k miles and I put all of em on.

Naturally after all these years, it stinks inside. How do I "clean out the smell"?

What I've tried (and is not enough):
- vacuum the whole thing
- febreeze the mats and carpets
- seat covers over the seats
- always had fan on at least low setting to prevent mildew from building in the vents (successful)
- air fresheners just mask the odors

But it still smells. Smells like 98k miles of sweat, pizza, rain, weather, shoes, spilled splattered cokes and punch, etc.

Might want to take out the seats and give them a thorough cleaning. Might want to give the headliner a good cleaning as well.

I'm afraid if I vacuum the headliner (referring to the roof undercloth right?) that it'll cause it to start pulling away and look like a crappy old Buick.

Did you shampoo it? Or just vacuum it?

May want to try some baking soda. Let it sit over night and vacuum it up.
