Default DIY: Paint over tailights?

just wondering if anyone knows how to just paint directly over your tailights...this guy had it done to his civic and you could still see the lights through the paint but it just looked real clean...just wondering if there was any kind of special paint or something i should use or what?!?

I believe you need to open up the housing of the lights and paint the insides with some sort of transparent hobby paint.

It is done with tint paint you get at the hobby shop. First you have to take the lights out and sand the out side so that it is dull, with a really fine grit. Then spray one thin layer at a time until it is as dark as you want it then top coat it. It is hard to do because if there are any runs or thin to thick parts it will show when the lights are on and look really bad. The only other downfall to it is there is no going back once you start sanding so be confident in what your trying to do. Blackouts are look good on the cars I've seen.

You need Tranparent Window Tiny spray. I did mines, and it look really good because eveyr one had alltezza lights so i had to spray it all red. I did my head lights on my 01 accord look really good but shines out pink after one layer. Risk for cops pulling you over but the look of it, it's worth it.

you need VHT spray tint or nite shade, depending on how dark you want to go.

I would just get some 7 year extreme performance overlays instead of trying to paint some kinda crap on. I have some overlays on my TC on the tails and 3rd brake light and they do not come off at all and since they are 7 year warranty I don't have to worry about it...basically its windows tint cut down to size. You would like it I bet, better than having to mess with some kind of spray.
