an introduction and time line to present.
been a member here for awhile never posted though just browsed.
well i have own'd my 19993 civic VX for around 2.5 years and here it is in its final state. the car is a dedicated track car, driving to and from the events and when ever i feel like driving it on the street.
Back in may of this year i went to my first HPDE event, and well i was hooked. I have always been into turning, not really a 1320 guy, so i spent the better part of the summer getting my car, setup with some track parts and stuff.
well lets start with the history first
here she is 3 days after i got it, on some funcky lowering springs i got for free and my freshly installed hood.
here she shrotly after i installed my first suspension and my frienship with Ground control started. i was on Ground control's and KYB AGX's
then i sold off a bunch of stuff, when i went to WSU for school, i was on 15 inch steelie's and had ITR seats
about now i started getting into track orenited performance upgrades, i want the biggest stock brakes i could get without anything custom needed. so i went with 96 ITR 4x114.3 suspension and upgraded the front to 11.1 inch prelude vtec rotors and calipers
here she is with the new setup
the newly purchased buddy club seat, im a small guy and this seat is great
i purchased the SRR sway and tie bar kit with the LCA's. at the time i was running low rates and the 19mm bar was a great compliment to the set up.
then shortly after that i went into tear down mode
carpet? ehh who needs it
can't see what caused the mess but i was preping for the roll bar to be added
and the new suspension Koni yellows with fully length ground control sleeves with 380 up front and 450 in the rear.
also picked up the ground control extended top mounts
the rear, wasn't fond of the purple so i had them anodized red
ooo ya i picked up some red 15x6.5 +32 offset GABs
also added some Cobalt Friction GT-sport brake pads, they seem to do great
figured i'd need alil more cooling so i picked up a thicker stock radiator.
the roll bar, I/O port racing seat back brace installed and the crow harness, along with the IO port racing camera mount
well just after i got all of this installed i went to my first HPDE at thunderhill, was signed off to group two. and then went to my next HPDE at sears point.
pre-grid
out on the track.
well for whatever reason, i found that my car was still understeering so after talking with a very knowledgeable guy he suggested i move up to a 22mm sway. so i purchsed the comptech setup, and buged the shit out of my freinds at ground control and got 'race mount' that are height adjustable
so i sold out the SRR bling bling control arms and sway/tie bar kit to, an HT member and purchased the comptech setup. (at the last event it was evident that my car was still under steering so i needed something bigger in the rear, and instead of raising the spring rates i decided to use a sway bar). so i ordered that up then had a hell of a time finding some integra LCA, finally picked up a set from an HT member.
then after bugging a buddy at GC for the there race mounts i finally picked them up and sold my slightly used extended top mounts to an HT user.
well got here running and here are some pic's
here the rear mount. it has a spherical bushing in there, and is height adjustable. i haven't yet got the heights dialed in yet, i just set them so the front were the same and so was the back.
front
sadly i completely forgot to take pics of the comptech setup.
here is another recent mod, Koyo full length rad, this thing makes sure the mota never get to hot, i also have a fal slim fan im going to install
BilNG bIlnG
"mAd tIgHT cause its JDM Y0!"- inside joke
a neat macro shot
the harsh reality of a Road course, kinda hard to see in these pics but my front bumper has taken a beating from the berms and off track excursion.
now for some whole car pics
all the stickers say "ground control", and they are all staying on the car. Every one at GC really helps me out, so i show my support.
next undertaking will be; painting the roll bar, installing the slim fan, and mocking up a splitter.
oo ya any one have a OEM 2 or 3 door bumper for sale PM me.
thanks for looking
