Default Painting...

hey,

i just got a si grill, and i will soon be getting a type r front lip.. what i want to know is, how should i get it painted? can i go to autozone, get a paint can that matches my color and spray that baby on and it will look the same? or do i need to go to a shop and get it done? my car is black, and if i can find the same color in a can, should i do it myself? if so, will it chip and shit? give me your opinions. thanks

Personally I would only do it yourself if you have the experience doing this. Other wise you may mess it up, and have to pay more in the long run.

Ditto. If you have to ask that question you don't know near enough in order to do a factory job or even close, not to mention the tools like a gun. And paint cans have propellents that won't allow the paint to ever fully cure hard like the factory paint..

is your car fbp? if so, did you get the si grill in fbp also? my suggestion is if you did then i would try and paint it myself, you should just paint it flat black which is not that hard to do, and since your car is already black it won't look that bad, unless you want it painted to color match the whole car, get it done professionally.
