Default Any thoughts on Canon Powershot S1 IS

Here is a link to it:
S1

I'm about to purchase one. &...
I was wondering if anyone here owns one and how they like/dislike it?
I had a chance to play around with one at Best buy but the flip-up flash mechanism was not working and refused to pop up...which kinda put me off.
I would just like to hear from experienced users before I commit to buying it.
For the camera gurus, what do you think of it?

I did alot of searching on cameras not but a few days ago. I was gonna get that but couldn't find it in a store. It had some of the best reviews... I ended up with the Nikon 5400. I would give you the thumbs up :bigok: if you wanted to get it because it has some very nice specs on it for its price

Thanks for your reply.
It is true about the warranty, but what happens if it should break after the warranty period is over (1 yr)?
& yes, I had a chance to read a lot while going about my hunt for a "pro-sumer" (not professional yet not consumer P&S either) model to accomodate my needs. I've also read the very handy Beyond Megapixels thread by Nightshade.
After all was said and done, I decided something 3 - 4 megapixels would be more than enough for me. The downsides to the S1 is the lack of RAW or TIFF images, flimsy lens cap and an almost non-existent macro mode. Other than that it is great.
