Default anyone use 3M Perfect-It paste wax?

I read a few raves at other forums while searching google about 3M wax. Does anyone have any experience with this or any other 3M paint care products? I'm thinking of returning the turtle wax platinum i bought before i open it and getting something else. This looks promising and is available locally.

autopia.org would have more information.

It has no cleaning, from what I remember, so you'll want to use something with a light polish/light cleaner to just add some depth/reflection to the paint.

Default 3M Wax

Hi, Yes,

I use this wax on my 04' Accord Coupe (Silver). It is a great product and lasts much longer than Meguires #16 Yellow. It goes on and off fairly easy and has a much harder base than other paste waxes. I've had good luck by using an instant detailer between waxings. So far, the best I've found is Mother's Instant Detailer (Showtime). Hope this helps!!

#16 isn't yellow.

#26 hi-tech is yellow.

In the grand scheme of things, #16 > #26.

I called every place in town but no one had the paste. So i bought the same stuff in a squeeze bottle. Is this gonna be as good ? (it's just as expensive) I want to wax it this weekend so i couldn't wait to order it online.

You sir, are very picky. It's not a bad thing.

It should be about the same. I tend to get more applications out of a tin of paste as opposed to a bottle of liquid wax.

I've heard good things about Mothers pure carnauba (they have one with cleaners, but I'm talking about the pure one)--paste. I've seen it for $23, and I don't know if I'm willing to pay that--or if you are.

I've never tried 3M's protectants--but if you're not happy give them a call and tell them, they usually will reimburse you.

Yes, i'd pay that much. But not unless i know it's gonna work great. And from the widely varying opinions i read about waxes here and elsewhere, i don't know how i could know for sure. Maybe companies who know thier product is great should offer sample packs for a couple bucks so you could see if it's worth blowing a wad on.

As for the idea about calling them, good idea. I've done this before with other products and a few times been shocked at what they did for me. I once complained about an $80 electronic gadget that needed a part that was impossible to find because the maker had the parts custom manufactuered for them and couldn't provide the part for me. When i complained about that i soon recieved another one free of charge and then had 2 of them ! (the broken one still worked, but was just a bit of a hassle to do a certain setting)

I just waxed her for the 1st time using 3M. I never really see much of a difference between various brands as far as the shine. So it's the longevity that seperates the good from the bad for me. Therefore i won't know how i like it for a while. Looks great tho. Unfortunatly there is a lot of microscopic sap dots that didn't come off with the waxing. Then i used mothers detailer and that got rid of most of it, tho it took a lot of elbow grease. In a few weeks i'll have to clay it, but for now it looks awesome. I can't believe i almost passed on this car because of the color, (graphite pearl EXL coupe)which i now like more than the silver i was going to get. The thing looks awesome !

By the way, to anyone who is debating whether to get the leather version or cloth, trust me on this........get the leather. You won't realize how much better it is till you take the car home. But believe me, It's more than worth it. The power 8 way seat adjustment is amazing too, but again you won't understand till you have it, and it only comes with leather.

I never noticed a huge difference between just applying a single product (wax) before and after. It wasn't until I got into detailing, and using all the steps (clay, medium polish, light polish, glaze, and protectant) that I fully knew how well a car could look.

Autopia.org should provide you with top notch information. And if you have any questions, the people there won't steer you wrong. You may even find a detailer near you that wouldn't mind going out and showing you a few things (I know I do this for people near me, and my boss does it as well). We really like detailing.
