Default product question?

Has anybody here used maguires scratch x? Its like a paste that comes in a tube supposed ot remove small surface scratches and swirl marks. It says its the best stuff next to a professional job.

Anybody with experience with this product? I plan on using it on a small area on my bumper and on a number of areas on my GF's jetta.

Thanks in advance.

i've used it before it will help a little bit on minor scratches on lighter vehicle colors, it worked fairly well on my white car, but on my buddy black car the scratches were still visable. It will also help remove minor scuff marks too. For 5 bucks or however much it cost it not bad to try and see if it'll help.

hum, thanks. that doesn't sound too promising. Oh well I already bought it, its worth a shot. My civic is that eternal blue pearl and my GF's jetta is black. Both dark cars.

Did you use it by hand or did you use a buffer? It says by hand on the label, apply just like wax, then apply a heavy coat of wax over it afterwards.

If the scratch is down to the metal (or even the primer) then it's not gonna help. If it's only like a scuffed scratch (just to the clearcoat or a color scratch) then it might help.

At some point you may have to admit to yourself its not fixable.

Dont worry though, my paint also sucks ass. I HATE EBP! I used to have a silver hatch, now silver, thats a awesome color.

Its not a bad color, I fell in love with it at the dealership. Its just so hard to keep a dark car clean looking. Never again will I own a dark car, however I am a sucker for blue (especially that new shade that the pilots come in).
I would have got silver (that was my second choice) but I didn't like the grey or charcoal interior.

The scratch on mine isn't to the metal. This is just a clear coat scratch/rub mark. You can't even feel it.

^ This guy knows his stuff :goodjob:

I was about to mention that also.

Scratch-X is a light cover up, I think it's somewhat of a cleaner wax/compound... it worked for my car for very minor scratches, but anything else, you'd need ^.
