Default Black. Hard to maintain?

Hi all,

I couldn't find any place to post this so I figured this might the closet place to it.

I'm thinking about buying a black colored car. Is it difficult to maintain it? I don't mean so much of it gets dirty easier rather is it difficult to maintain the glossy-ness and luster?

Thanks.

to a point yes, but just get some quick detailer and wax it regularly and it will look fine.

yes it is. they look incredible when clean, but they get dirty quick. small splashes, dirty, well, acutally, anything will show on black paint. also, dust gets to settle, and sucks too. if you dont mind cleaning the car, and dusting it more than often, get it, black looks great.

I've noticed that "swirls" appears more on black cars. Is that true? Is it hard to "remove" swirls?

i have a black car. every couple weeks a take a buffer to it with turtle wax color match wax. covers alot of small scratchs and maxs it shine. just take care of it and when you wash it, i only use car wash soap with hot water. make sure your sponge is clean, foreign debris in sponges will rune a black cars day and when your done, dry it with a terry cloth towel. i personally love having a black car because i like washing it. gives me somtin to do and provides for a sense of accomplishment

Not black, but I have dark paint. Yes it's a PITA because every little blemish shows; and those swirls. Hard to maintain the shine/clean, but if you're dedicated, it's I wash/wax weekly to keep the paint looking fresh.

I had a black vehicle...Pollen will be a really bad enemy. If you don't keep your car clean, during Pollen season your car will have a yellow haze/glow to it. They do look immaculate when they are detailed and clean...but they're a bizitch to keep clean.

If you keep a nice smooth waxed finish, the pollen should just wipe off with a duster. That's what I do. Those california car dusters are :goodjob:

But it's so pretty .
