I would like to know too if anyone knows.

Some people paint their bulbs. Here is a DIY on the bulb painting process. It looks really nice, but I imagine it would fade after a while.

Good link. I would worry that those amber bulbs would be dark enough. For only .99 a bulb, might as well try. I don't however see any #24 bulbs on that site. Your cluster will need 5 #24's and 1 #74. If you do the climate control also, that will need 2 #74's. I wonder where you could get the #24 bulbs.

I painted mine a while ago and it really didn't work out all that great. It's hard to get them all the same brightness and they end up burning out cause the paint holds a lot of the heat in (at least in my experience).

I'm gunna look into the link posted above and see what's up.

That site is pretty cool for that kind of stuff. Let me ask you this though: I know that the DX and EX clusters use different sized bulbs. The EX clusters have a slightly larger sized bulb used in every backlighting bulb. The DX cluster has a few of these larger bulbs, but also has a small bulb which I think is the 94. I just don't want to order a bunch of 94s and not have any of them work in my EX cluster. :happysad:

I think I have a few of the larger ones at home so I'll check on that number. The sylvania bulb guide doesn't let you choose the model of the car and they only show that the 94 is used. :dunno:

I'm gunna move this to app/cos becaue I think it may help others going for that JDM look.

Great post guys.

I checked that link, I might want to get some bulbs.

So let me get this straight, I need 5 #24's and 1 #74 for my cluster?
Any idea what size is the bulb for the hazard button off hand?

The bulbs in that tutorial looked a lil......pink to me. He should went a lil more orange. Nice find though, good job. Maybe we'll have some folks on here try it and get some after pics.

Yeah, that what that H-T link says. There is a picture there that circles which bulbs go where. I'm just going by what it says. I've never even taken my gauge cluster out before. It says that the bulbs don't fit perfectly and you have to really push them into the sockets, but they will work.
