Clutchless Shifting in an s2000???
My friend has an s2000, and he told me a few days ago that in his car he doesnt have to press the clutch in when upshifting, he said that he can just put it in the next gear, but he has to let off the gas. Is this true? or is he just bs'n me? I told him if that was possible, it was probably cause his tranny is so good it would allow it, but would probably tear it up in the long run. I rode with him yesterday, but he didnt show me how he did it though.

ya, just rode with him tonight and he showed me it....all he did was let off the gas, then put it into the next gear....but he would have to wait a second after he let off the gas or it wouldnt go in gear....but it is weird that it doesnt grind at all

If you are experienced, you can do clutchless upshifting on almost any stick shift. I've tried it, but I don't recomend making it a habbit. If you don't have the engine speed and ground speed in perfect sync, can be a very bad thing. I only tried it on an old 1989 Accord with 150,000 miles. NEVER on my Prelude.

i did it on my 96 civic i had through 4th gear and it was always the same rpm range...if i didnt hit the certain rpm range than it would grind and/or stay in nuetral and i would have to tap the clutch...not a good idea though
