2003 with 53,000 miles Silver on Black, 100% stock, new KUHMO tires (are these good?) No extra no whistles (no rear deck spoiler or front lip which I wanted)

Not bad, compare it to your local prices.

Make sure the Kuhmo tires are sized right. OEM tires were specialized S-02 and/or S-03s were 205 front, 225 rear but the contact patch on the S-02s were equivalent to 245s from other brands. If the contact patch is 8-8.5" (I believe, double check tirerack S-02s for Ap1) it should be fine. Small thing but it does affect the driving experience.

 

bought the car for 17K. the kuhmos suck, i feel the rear keep wanting to slip and come forward. they are 205 and 225. Even though he said 3k on the tires, i think i'm getting new ones

 

you got a pretty good deal at $17. how did he lower 2 grand for you? I bought my 01 at $17,700 two years ago. Should have gotten an 02 because of the new suspension and convertible top.

 

You should be able to find a better deal than that i am starting to see ap2s for 19-21k. If you do get an ap1 make sure u get an 02 or 03 because of the upgrades. Search S2ki.com or ebaymotors. Most s2000s have really LOW miles and that car doesnt have alot but it has a good amount

 

possibly, that and you can't drive it like a teg, RWD is a completely different beast

 

Doesn't matter the tire. These cars get tail happy when pushed.

 

I was seeing 2004 AP2's for that price in my recent search. But thanks for keeping the value of my car high!

 

That price was from last year, but anyways regarding the tires, I was slipping b/c they were way under inflated. they did a better job later. But these tires must not have been too new. I had to replaced them in December, worn out. I also bought AP2 rims with my new tires. So much nicer looking now.

 

i got my AP1 for 15k with 26k miles on it.
