I'm 26 right now, but I got the car new in '03 and it was 2 weeks before I turned 23.

@ gsr0102

Young guy + sport car = high insurance rate... even with a clean record. Imagine a poor record.
But what's funny is that: Young gal + sport car = average rate? Silly isn't it?

I'm in my early 30's now, and for a '94 accord, I pay $215 per 6 months, would be less if my deductable was higher. As I remember, up until I was 29, my rate use to be in the $350+ per 6 months... with a clean record.

Sport car at your age, I wouldn't be surprise if it was high... no offense. Location as to where you live plays a great role too, I'm sure you are aware of that.

$2400 full coverage in nj...yea i was first quoted at $4000+. i think they classify it as a coupe rather than a sports car. im 22 yrs old with no pts, but a few speeding tickets in the past.
Oh yes, I remember back in my college years, a buddy of mine, just to have insurance, he had to pay $4000 per month because the ASS was such a road hog. As I recall, he was un-insurable but since his mommy was a insurance agent, she was able to get by with that rate. Ouch!

Call it what you want... I didn't believe it myself until we saw his bill.

I pay about $1200 per year with State Farm here in San Diego. I do have my wife's car, homeowners, no tickets or accidents, good driver discount, loyalty discount and whatever other discount possible to have to get it there. I have higher than minimum limits, but I don't know what they are offhand.

Going to pay about $120 a month as soon as I buy one. No tickets or accidents, and I just received my 3-year good driver discount.

I have AAA insurance in SoCal. My 1 year premium is $2500, but that's because I have 2 points on my record. Next year my premium should be at least 20% cheaper since 1 point will fall off....and the year after that it should be significantly less since the last point will fall off then as well.
