Oh, boy, I'm probably gonna get flamed for this one.
I bought my s2k used with aftermarket, matching wheels on front and back. I have no frame of reference on this particular car, but it handles great. If you use directional tires (which you should), you still can't rotate them, though.

Well this thread's been going on a while. So I'll throw out another question to ponder. The OEM wheel are (I believe) 16x6 front and 16x7 rear. There are people with after market wheels running 17x8 F and 17x9 R. So why couldn't you run 16 or 17 x8 all a round?

you think it migt have anything to do with the rubber being "high performance" as in soft, as in no life? Staggered fitment has nothing to do with tire life aside from no front to back rotation.

You can do that, just dont go with the stock front measurments all the way around. Its bad for the looks. Just makesure there is no tire rub up front. Good luck and i totally see where your coming from. I am a broke college student and i love 'rotating'. LOL.
