Default Speed variations

Does anyone know why speed should change momentarily when under neutral or reduced throttle (trying to avoid more tickets). It's very annoying and Acura is no help at all.

If your AC compressor is kicking on or off the clutch can cuase more stress on the motor and cause it kinda slow down. I would have it checked out cuase a new rsx shouldn't do that. Try going with out the A/C on and then try it with it on.. see if it makes a difference.

Thanks. I will check carefully, but don't have much hope because I don't use the AC nearly as much as the winshield wipers (Seattle).

Definitely not the air conditioning. Very frustrating to go lurching down the road and not be able to find the problem.

I've noticed the same problem with my RSX. It seems to lurch when the revs are lower (it only happens occasionally though)...

It's frustrating because I can't find any pattern except a neutral or reduced throttle. This week we are going to start replacing parts in hopes of finding the solution. If we find solve the problem I will let you know.

Hey, does it do it only when it is cold? or when the motor is to full operating temp. Because, now that I think about it my rsx has done the same thing when I first get in it and don't let it warm up.

So far it has happened slightly more often going north. Other than that, there is no pattern. Hot, cold, doesn't seem to matter.

Talked to other RSX owners. The "lurching" seems to be common behavior, although my car apparently has a more severe case than most. Guess I will just have to live with it - but it sure is irritating. Will trade the car in on something that runs smoother next year.

That really is weird that your car does it that bad. I would take it to acura and have them do a diagnostics test on it. Maybe they can figure it out. It should still be under warranty.
