Last night I got a ticket for drag racing, and I didnt even go all out. Thats becuase a cop had turned onto the street I was at a light on so I knew there would be no race, even though I wanted to wax that Mustang. So at green I took off at like 3rpm's but the Mustang got it and was like 2 car lenghts ahead of me, we didnt even go that far cause there was a cop ahead. However, we didnt see the cop behind us, who got behind the Mustang with his lights and then spotted me. I should have just took off, but though he may have gotten my license plate number. Anyways the cop says, we "acclorated loosing traction and taking off at high rates of speed not slowing down for a couple of blocks." Which is not true in my case, Mustang maybe. So anyone have any tips on how to fight this ticket, I mean there is no proof just the cops word vs. mine. If anyone could help that would be cool.

 

Sorry bro may be an ass of a response I admit it but, if you're gonna "street race" you got to be ready for the consequences.

Kind of dumb to accelerate quickly at all when you knew a cop was around. I'd say you're screwed. Take it to court and try to get it down to a moving violation, but that's it. I assume he hit you with reckless driving or similiar?

 

yeah that was the stupidest thing you could of done. Street racing is dumb and what you did was even dumber knowing that a cop was in the area. What makes you think the coip ahead of you wasn't going to pull you over? Next time think before you do something stupid like that. I guess we all have to learn these things. I doubt your gonna get off, especially with two cop cars witnessing the event.

 

poor dude already confessing and regreting his mistake and still got harsh response. but everyone is right, next time don't do it.

my advice, if you know an experienced lawyer, get him. otherwise, try to talk it out with the prosecutor, if you are lucky and can bs, he might change your charge but you have to pay more.

 

He might be regretting his mistake but if you look at his post, he was thinking about running away from the cops. Too much of this stuff happens and innocent people get hurt in the process. Lets keep racing where it belongs, on the track.

they can only get you for one...just hope its for the least amounts of points. shoulda just made a turn and found a different way home. live and learn
