Default Base RSX Class

Generally speaking, what "class" would you put the base RSX in (in terms of performance and general quality)? For example, I'd say it's above a Civic clearly, but what about a Celica? How is the 03 RSX comparing performance-wise with the comparable Nissans? Ford Focus? Mustang? GM's comparable stuff? I'm talking stock, straight off the lot stuff here.
Thanks.

I would put the base RSX in the low-end entry-level sport luxury market. Its a 2 door obviously, nicely refined interior with leather, ok engine, and ok suspension. The base RSX compared to the base Celica the RSX is more refined and better engine, comparable Nissan is prob the Sentra SE-R with 175 hp, whereas the Sentra is better performance wise, but does not have the Acura refinement, Ford Focus.....Mustang? not comparable except price wise, whereas you're looking at two different classes. The Mustang is a V6, with a ****ty ass interior, the focus is a hatch and is in a lower class in interior, engine, and exterior. GM's and Ford I don't really care to compare, they're domestics. to everyone their own dude buy what you like but I know you will be happier with the RSX. I hope I was able to be of assistance.

Peace.

It's direct competition would be all the comp. that the integra used to have. Golf (GTI), celica, sentra...although the rsx is a littler higher in terms of luxury and refinement. it is kind of hard to match it up with direct competitors

You didn't mention any of its competition except for the Celica. Nissan doesn't have a sport coupe in the low 20's the Mustang has a piece of shit interior that in no way compares with the RSX's luxurious surroundings, and the Focus SVT competes with the Civic Si, VW GTI, and Mini Cooper. No luxury there(maybe some in the GTI), unless you're comparing for pure performance.
