for horse power you are looking to about a 10whp-15whp gain. Also it helps alot if you have an intake + exhaust. there are 4 flash programs to choose from. you can have your vtec crossover lowered to 5200 and fuel cutoff set at 8600!!!! I've been reading alot about it and want it, but there is a few things holding me back.
1) waiting for warrenty to end
2) waiting to see long term effects in others rsx'a
3) you have to send your ecu, immobilizer and keys to cali ( i live in mass)

but from what i hear its well worth it besides a turbo for the money.

there is alot of info over at clubrsx, just do a search there.

Best bang for the buck, besides nitrous. Not only are you getting HP gains, you're also lowering the VTEC point and raising the rev limiter.

they make it really easy for you so that the turnaround is at most 6 days, usually 4-5, and you only have to send your ecu, not immobilizer/keys.

you might have it confused with an ecu swap, cuz if you want to swap out your ecu for another person's flashed or nonflashed ecu, then you'd need to change it with the immobilizer/keys

I have the HONDATA gasket already installed and will be re-flashing the ECU in July. I have spoken with Knowledge Performance Inc. (HONDATA dealer) and they assured me that you absolutely must include ignition and key or no re-flash will be made. The three pieces function as one, neither will perform without recognizing the other... all or nothing.

Have you not noticed the little green flashing key in your instrument cluster any time you insert or remove your key? When you insert the key that's your ECU telling you that it recognizes your specific key and it allows the ignition to perform normally. Try inserting someone else's key and see what happens.

Anyway, I can't wait to re-flash (warranty... whatever)

It helps keep the intake manifold cooler by providing a better insulating barrier between the head and the IM. The OEM is a thin metal gasket while the Hondata gasket is a thicker one.

BTW its a 3 day turn around on the HONDATA reflash if you follow there directions on there website abd overnight your ECU to them. Heres how i figured this out 1 day from you to them, 1day for them to reflash it, and return shipping over night. http://www.hondata.com/kseriesfaq.html
