There is NO AUTOMATIC TYPE-S it is not even an option here in North America.

We had a kid on another board that I am on that said he had an automatic typeS, turns out all he had was a TypeS emblem on a base Automatic, but he swore up and down that it was a TypeS.

Here is some info on decoding the VIN:

3rd character- Identifies vehicle type or manufacturing division.

4th to 8th characters- Identifies vehicle features such as body style, engine type, model, series, etc.

JH4DC53082Cxxxxxx This is the starting series of the VIN from our car a 2002 RSX TypeS with The ONLY AVAILABLE TRANSMISSION a 6 Speed. The x's are the production #.

I agree BonzoAPD, I've been trying to tell him, showed him all sorts of sites that claim he is wrong, but he doesn't believe me, "Cuz the dealer checked it" I love that. The DEALER! I think it was that too, OLDMAN, the badge thing. It is an '02 after all. Some stupid punk prolly bought the damn thing on eGhey and stuck it on there. This sold it to this moron who believes it just cuz it has the stupid badge.

mna nbo such thing as an auto type-s, just like no auto gsr's. Man people are just trying to have " faster " base models. I hate em for that too. Thatd just be wrong to have an auto S. We'd be like the Celica GTS auto.
