Default Intake

Ok..I'm getting the AEM cold air intake for my RSX...I want to get a bypass valve for it but haven't been able to find it. Do they even make one for that model? Cuz i really don't want to just take my chances of not sucking in water from rain puddles etc. :dunno:

the deal with bpv is it does fit the rsx, however it wasnt really considered when making the tubing for the intake. the only feasable place to put it is just as low as the filter itself so it wont be of much help. plus you physically have to cut the tube since theres only 1 section for the rsx.

something to keep in mind....the filter has to be almost completely submerged for it to start sucking in water. rain will drip off the filter so unless youre going swimming with your car i wouldnt worry about it. ive han mine since the beginning of the summer without problem driving through heavy downpoors at times(the ones that are bad enough to stop traffic on a highway).

why'd you decide on the AEM? pretty much everyone who doesnt have an intake yet is going for the DC since it includes the new wiper fluid bottle and doesnt require bumper removal

i got mine before dcs came out. the dc bottle leaks and if you dont take off the bumper you still have to take out part of the fender lining. i rarely use the wiper fluid anyway since i try and keep my car clean so i may consider even getting rid of it.

only one or two people have had the leaks, and taking out the fender lining is much easier than taking off the bumper hehe

it is true if she hasn't get the intake, DC sports might be a better choice cus less working time, that is if she or her b/f is gonna install by themselves, otherwise AEM or DC doesn't make much diff. Another thing is once you know how to take off the front bumper, it is actually pretty easy and quick. But good advice anyway.

Ooppsss.....I revived an old thread

So you have to remove the washer fluid bottle to install an AEM CAI....doh...sometimes I miss having the integra engine bay....so much more room...LOL
