look get what you like if you go with the civic si yes it is slower but remember that it is what it is a civic its easy to bring it up to par as rsx and yes the parts are interchangable if not why do people put type-s heads on the a3's si and if you dont want to do that you can change cams and rocker arms from the type-s head and you could make nice n/a power while retaining you stock a3 you can always give it the almighty heart transplant or even go forced induction like turbo or supercharged and if not you could even go juiced (nitrous) if you even wanted to get some cheap hp all in all it depends on what you want and could afford thats the important part g l on what ever you choice is
