Default Comparison

Does the 2002-2005 Civic Si and the base RSX have the same engine? I hear this engine is not a "true" V-tec. How much truth is there to this statement?

Same engine (K20A3).

It does have i-VTEC but people say it doesn't have true VTEC because of the fact that you can't really notice it and its more for fuel economy than for performance.

Ya they have the same engine the K20A3 and its true it's not true V-Tech. It's a form of V-Tech cause the V-Tech is only on the intake side, the exhaust side is just a regular cam. The A3 is basicaly a 12 valve engine untill the V-Tech kicks in then it's a 16 valve. I was disapointed when I found that out but with some tuning ( I used the Greddy E-manage ) it can still be a contender.
