GOOD POINT, the S is put out there for a reason.. test drive one and youll see it...

You know when it comes down to it... its all about what car YOU like best. You gotta think about what you expect from the car and what you wanna do with it. Not every car is suited for every person. Sure the type S is better than the base.. but maybe you dont need the extra S. Not to be sexist but have you guys ever seen old women driving carreras? I have. It is WEIRD. Sure its a better car than most cars out there, but maybe a g35 would suit her better and her husband just decided that hes too baller to get an infinity and all he can buy are porsches. In the end all you have to do is sit in both cars, drive them hard, and see which one is for you. that is the only way to decide which car is for you.

Random windshield cracking and center console malfunctions? How can a center console malfunction in the first place? Its a large chunk of plastic......

And you're blowing the RSX's problems out of porportion. I'm not saying the Civic is not reliable (becuase it is) but it's already had a recall (I can't remember if it was for the Sedan or for all of them) whereas the oh-so-unreliable  RSX has not.

the 05 Si will give you major negotiating room. but dont be mistaken you can negotiate a type-s way below MSRP especially now that the new SI's are selling like crazy
