Any help would be appreciated on this one. I am in the market for a 2004 RSX-S. I have been doing my research and saving my money for over a year now. It seems as though nothing has changed on the 2004 from the 2003, or the year before. Are their any changes???? Also, does anyone know future plans for the RSX in the upcoming years. I would really hate to purchase this car this summer and then find out in the winter that they have added some nice features. Any info on this would be appreciated.

The difference b/w the 2003 and 2004 is a heated drivers mirror. Price is still pretty fixed as of current.

A new 2005 Civic SI is coming, talks about increased horsepower allude to the possibility of the k20a2 (RSX-S engine) in the new Si, and an upgraded more DC5R-like engine in the 2005-2006 RSX Type S'

Again these are mostly rumors but are logical and I myself wouldn't be surprised if it proved true.

BUT, yes there always has to be a but, along with these changes I predict a price change as well, making the RSX-S even more expensive.

So my suggestion, buy now either 2003-2004. The change will most likely be minor and won't justify the extravagent price increase Honda America is most likely to induce upon an "R-like" RSX.

You'll still have the incredibly potent k-series engine to start with. good luck, let us know what happens.

 

i dont think the heated mirrors is a diff i have a premium rsx, 2002 and i have heated mirrors on mine...(it was new when it first came out, on backorder i had to wait 4 weeks, so if i have heated mirrors...i think everyone should...but mine is in CDN if the spec's on that are any diff) i asked about future changes i was told the only change for the 2003 would be that they would attach the gas tank thing...where u put in the gas in, that piece that u unscrew to refule your car mine is not attached to the car, they said they would add a string attaching it i dunno if it happened...doesn't make a diff if it did though..and he also said that this would be the model of the car before the reshape for 7 years...so whats that take us to...2002+ 7 years....2009 model..will be the reshape..or new design, thas what i was told atleast

they usually change 1 car every year, for 2004 the new TL was introduced..i would think for 2005 the RL will be reshaped and brought more up to date style wise and for 2006 a new 1.7EL shape will be introduced, 2007 and 2008 maybe the MDX....or NSX...not sure just guessing and then maybe the RSX in 2009 they usually do 1 per year, so your fine for a few years, about preformance i have no idea...

as for changes with the RSX ask the dealer they usually will have a idea...but it might be to early for that

 

Dude you Canadians have completely many different specs than the US. The heated mirror is a new feature for 04's.

And I don't think he's asking about the body styling, I gathered he was asking about performace/engine changes for the RSX in the upcoming year or two???

The Canadian RSXs have always had heated mirrors, heated seats, and a low wiper fluid indicator. The Stateside 2004 RSXs now get heated mirrors as well, and as far as I know that's it.

Last I heard, the next major redesign is expected for 2006, although that could just be styling...

 

i did not know the specs were that diff, but ya i have all that in my 2002 rsx ...what other diff's are there between the two..like what does the US one have the CDN one wont....i know the sidmarker lights we dont get...any others

I just wanted to see if anyone knew of any type of change on the rsx in the upcoming years. All knowledge is very helpful. I guess I am just trying to get re-assurance that now would be an alright time to buy. As far as the diffrence between the 2003 -2004, I just couldnt find anything anywhere that has changed on the car and I could probably save some money by buying a 2003 if there are no changes.

If I were on a budget but wanted a new"er" car with warranty and it had to be an RSX...I would buy now.
