No Bernies rules are designed to f*ck Ferrari up. Thank you Bernie for proving to me that you are truly the reason F1 has begun to suck. The #1 team/driver combo has issues and you expect me to believe that your new rules are doing well. Its bullshit, F1 is supposed to be the pinnacle of racing with speed and technology and instead it has become a utter bunch of crap. MS hasn't had a mechanical issue since 2001, speaks volumes about the reliability of the car and he had major issues Sunday. Rubens charged hard and then ran into issues, same thing two weekends in a row and the race before this he had no tires left.

What is up with the no tire changes and one engine for 2 races rule? Is this some kind of joke? You got engines cranking upwards of 17000 rpm, bring back the old rules when you had to fight hard to beat Ferrari. You can't make the rules so that the crappy teams can catch up, you make them work harder. When half the field falls out due to mechanical issues and the tires look like slicks from the 90s you have to wonder whether the rules are helping or hindering the sport. Bring back the qualifying sessions, the hell with the one lap flyers. The tires take a beating and need to be changed, you can't expect someone to use the same tires for 60-70 laps of hard racing.

 

You forget that Ferrari has sucked as much as they have dominated. The Ferrari era of the late 90s-00s, was offset by their crappy seasons from 1990-1996 or 1997. They had their break with Prost in 1989, but before that it was, what, G. Villeneuve who won their last title?

The tifosi have suffered through many a hard time before.

Also, Renault has significantly upped their game. The R25 finally has the power to match up the superb handling and drag launches, and Alonso and Fisi are top notch drivers. Maybe MS and RB are finally at an end to their reign?

 

I wouldnt worry too much. After 3 races in '03, it was McLaren 39, Ferrari 16. This year it's Renault 36, Ferrari 10, with three additional races to make up the ground. I would not bet my money against the prancing horse yet

 

Yes Ferrari struggled in the 80s/90s, one cause of that was the declining health and untimely death of Enzo Ferrari. When Todt, Brawn and Schumacher joined they took over control of not only the F1 program but also the road car program. The new rules are designed to mess with Ferrari, Bernie doesn't want the other teams to catch up he just wants to slow Ferrari down. Toyota has the largest budget and they SUCK. Everyone knows the Bridgestones are not endurance tires and take 2 laps or so to come up to temperature. Bridgestone's main target is Ferrari, they pay Ferrari to supply them with tires. Don't you find it funny that Bernie would decide to go with one lap qualifiers and no tire changes knowing that it would put Bridgestone at a huge disadvantage and in turn making Ferrari struggle.

If you want to beat Ferrari then beat them at their own game. Use determination and hard work, don't stoop to that low of a level and use new rules that are designed to favor some teams. Maybe Ferrari and MS' domination is bad, but they worked for it and they deserve it. If I wanted crap I'd watch NASCAR, I always thought F1 was the gentleman's game with high end technology and now its a mediocre show of stupidity.
