Default Opinions on Ebay Strut Tower Bars

Hey everbody, what is everyones opinions on the Strut tower bars that are sold on ebay for anywhere fron 5 or 6 bucks up 60 or 70 bucks. Do you think they are a wast of money or do you feel that if it does the job than who cares how muck you paid. I am looking at a set of front and rear for like 30 bucks and then I was foing to reinforce the welds on the bars an then I was goig to powercoat them Black. What does everyone think about that concept.

Thanks

If you know how to weld than that would definetely be a good idea.I wouldn't say it's a waste of money especially for that price, but reinforce the welds for sure or anything else that seems like a weak point or flexpoint.

which ECU?

the strut bar, sure 10 bucks is a good price, if it fits. strut tower bars are all mostly the same. if you could weld and had some chromoly u could make 1 for $5.

I'll tell you what ever heard
"You get what you pay for"

go ahead and buy those crappy ebay bars that are hollow and weak as all hell. You won't stiffen your suspension at all, you'll just be adding weight.

Think I'm kidding ask anyone with those cheap ass bars to lay it on the ground and stand in the middle. The watch in amazment as it bends/flexes...or even breaks.

Try that with a Neuspeed/Spoon bar and you'll get no flex or bend at all. There are some things you can skimp on. but don't do it on your suspension.

If your driving a prelude you already have one of the best handeling cars honda made... try and improve upon that...not make it worse

the question is, how much force is a STB actually exposed too? i'm not sure that a spoon bar, despite it's fine construction really does that much in the first place, therefore spending 200 bucks on it seems kind of pointless.

now, spending $20 on something that is made cheaply but probably does the job seems smarter to me, especially if you can reinforce it with the help of a welder.

i admit...i have bought the so called ebay strut bars... i have a set of four upper/lower/fron/rear and i paid a total of $50... the bars to me are strong and seem to do the job... i do admit... some of the bars out there are crap so i suggest to inspect them by hand before purchasing... and to the comment about the one to step on the bar is nonsense... the strut bars are to reinforce the chasis and absorb force coming from the ends not from the center... my 2 cents take it or leave it...

i just installed a 27mm sway bar, and i can feel the difference, but it's not all that obvious until i'm at the limit. what you're saying is that you can tell the real difference between a neuspeed bar and an ebay bar? personally i think you're feeling the name more than you are the bar.

as far as having a tough time getting it to fit, ok i can see that being a pain in the ass.
