antenna :(
My antenna died.
Won't go up or down. I can hear it trying and grinding a bit. Is there an easy way to check to see if something came loose? I tried pulling back the carpeting in the trunk and didn't see anything.

clickwir, good luck ive tried everything, with mine. i couldnt take it appart or find a way to get it out, im gonna go to a body shop and get the gti antenna.
but anyway if you try pushing it down and pulling it out, eventually itll stop making that noise, my antenna goes about half way in and thats by force and to get it out i have to pull, i think the car looks nicer with the antenna in anyway, but mine only goes half way so whateva.
good luck

Go to Best Buy's car-fi garage and ask for a power antenna. They sell one that costs 60.00 motor and antenna, has a universal mounting kit (yes, it will fit ANYTHING -- I installed one on my old Chevy Beretta, and put one in my friends 1984 BMW 730i). They extend out longer, run faster, have a higher current motor, and will last longer than any stock power antenna. I have obviously sold my Beretta since, but my friend's BMW still works great and that was installed in 1998. Oh, yeah..... this antenna will blast through ice, snow, dirt, mud, and anything else. Like a Mack truck.
