Default Lude engines?

Just wondering. For the 94' Prelude. What engine is it?. Im not good with car engine knowledge. I keep hearing about this H22, and H23 engine for the lude. Apparently either both or one of the two, are a popular choice for engine swaps.

If that can be answered that would be awesome. Slowly getting into this import talk.

thnx

H22 is DOHC (Dual over head cam) Vtech engine and it puts out about 190-200 horsepower

H23 is DOHC non Vtech and puts out about 160 horses.

You can find just about any other info you want if you search on google or something.

oh yeah and here are the types of ludes it came with...

Prelude S: had some gay ass 120-130 horse power engine called the F something

Prelude Si: had the H23

Prelude SH: had the H22

And there are other types such as the H22 A2, A3 etc etc but those are just minor differences.

Thank you very much Mr. Badguy. Didn't think that anyone was going to answer my question.

H22 is what most people crave.

Cept some of those crazy Civic drivers that like those B-series :eek3: :rick:

A diagram has finally been made!! thank you!! about the above post, all info is correct for the most part, but the 4th gen. ludes never had a SH trim, they were simply called VTEC ludes. 5th gens were the ones w/ SH trim, and all those cars had H22s. Slightly differend than the 4th gens, but H22s all the same.

USDM had 3 flavors of the 4th gen. S, Si, and VTEC. Other countries may have called them diffrent, but those are the ones for the US.

SR, I think that's canada.
