Yea I know this is a dumbass question.

But I was wondering if Japan ever got the "prelude" that we have now, and if they did, did they get more model choices? did they have any difference in performance?

Yes. There is JDM. There are many others too.

Here's a quick example: http://www.preludecrazy.com/specs/models.php

h22a type s was very similar except that it had a dual runner intake manifold, so more bottom end power with the same top end power......the material the intake manifold/throttle body was made out of was superior too......super smooth and the airflow numbers you could get out of it were comparable to f1 cars all things even.....much less grainy and lighter too.....but the lude type s was heavier and nicer......i'd take either though
