Default Prelude Break Light Problems - Need Help

My parking lights and break lights in my wife's 95 prelude have gone out. I traced the wire from the swith on the steering wheel and found it to be a blue wire. I cannot figure out though why it will not switch on, I reconnected and it still wont work so I had to put it on a switch and used an extra power source in the fuse box for now.

It is really annoying and I'm trying to figure out how to get it switching on again normally. Or, is there any way I can tap into the headlights and have them come on with them or something?

I'd appreciate any help-

i guessed you checked the fuses already, if you bypassed it and they work then the headlight switch might be bad

not an a$$holish remark or anything, but seriously: you did check the bulbs, right?

yea, I have checked everything, I have no idea what the deal is. I can't figure this thing out. Any ideas how to rig the parking lights up to the headlights to pass inspection?
thanks
