Default a question for all you h22a guys

picture

On this diagram, what are plugs 11 and 12 for? Also, on the bottom of the tranny there is a 14mm bolt that faces the ground.

The reason I ask this is because I'm having a hell of a time getting my shifter into gear and someone mentioned the tranny fluid and I thought that plugs 11 and 12 were the drain and fill but when I opened them, nothing came out!! So I thought I was empty and I tried getting some gear oil into the top plug but I couldn't really get any in there. Anyway, if anyone knows what those plugs are for, that would be sweet!!

11 and 12 are access plugs for tranny disassembly, i think.

parts 10 and 14 are the drain and fill, respectively. fluid should be filled to the bottom edge of the filler hole that's sealed by part #14.

Thanks man, but I also need to know what will happen if fluid was placed into those access holes cuz someone told me that those were the holes and I attempted to place gear oil in it! I got a bit in but it started seeping back out. Anyway, will placing fluid in those access holes that were plugged up adversely affect my engine?

Finally, does anyone know of the bolt I speak of (that is not pictured) that is directly under the tranny that faces the ground?

it's no problem putting fluid into the holes you put them into. just dont do it anymore as you may overfill the transmission. best bet, open up the fluid check bolt and let it drain to the proper level just in case there's too much fluid. too much fluid will cause oil foaming, of which cannot be transferred to the gear surfaces as efficiently as unfoamed oil, thus reducing your protection level. only use Honda MT fluid, Redline MT fluid, or GM MT fluid... all of these have the friction modifiers and shock inhibitors to protect the synchros... regular gear oil does not.

as for the hold facing the ground, beats me... i dont wanna jack up the car to look. hopefully someone else can provide you with an answer.

your problem of not being able to put your car in gear is your presure plate is worn, try getting a new clutch and presure plate. MT FLUID? lol yeah if it dont work check the fluid, lmao
