I have a 96 Prelude S without power door locks and i would like to install them. My question is can i just get a motor from a 96 lude with power door locks (or a new one, im pretty sure they are cheap) or like poppers instead of getting a whole kit from JC Whitney?? Cause i want to get the stock power door lock switch anyway to make it look like i always had them. Or is there any alarm system that i can buy and it will have a special relay or popper that i can install and i can use the alarm to lock and unlock my doors?? Because i dont want to spend like $60 to just convert my doors to power and then on top of that get like an alarm system that is about $80. But who knows i might have to if this doesnt work... Any help or advice would be appreciated.

get the locking system from a junked Si or Si VTEC, including switches and relays.

dont forget to install fuses in the fuse box.

 

Circuit City quoted me $75 per door for everything. Kinda expensive, even more so if you can get all the parts for like $30 and do it yourself.

 

this is probably the best plan. cheapest too...and will come out the best since all the parts are designed specifically for your car.
