Default Need the truth =\

ok guys. I know I posted about it before, but I just need the honest truth. Would it be worth it to drop about 4 grand to buy a JRSC for my 98 lude and run it on all the stock parts that come with the JRSC kit? No upgraded ECU/FMU (yet...) no changed injectors to 400cc or 440cc. Just the stuff that comes in the package. I know that a lot of people knock the stock parts from the JRSC kit, but is it reliable at all? I mean damn, dont you think JR would have realized that none of there MAP changes work if everyone who has one is complaning about it? Anyway, this would be my set-up. JRSC kit with all the stock parts it comes with, colder spark plugs, colder theromostat, Hondata Intake manifold gasket, Boost and Air/Fuel Ratio Gauges. What ya think, be honest. thx - Matt

Do it... just keep your eyes open wider for maintenance and don't do anything stupid. It's easy to blow up your engine.

stock JRSC parts dont have any issues since they fixed the lubrication problem on the Prelude blower.

the only "issue" is with people who get the optional 9psi pulley but forget to upgrade anything else.

the only issue i have with the JRSC is changing the jackshaft and blower belts every 10k miles.

But turbos are much harder to install all the cooling lines and such... i would think superchargers are much safer on the engine than any turbo would especially a stock one. Like 5thgenlude's is... just my 2 cents.

coolant lines? no one uses a coolant charged center section on an aftermarket turbo... too much trouble to install, and very little benefit.

oil cooled center sections and proper maintenance is just as long lasting and reliable as a coolant charged solution.

I would say get a turbo, but there is alot of risk... i think a supercharger is much safer. So go whatever you want! JRSC is a good mod.

how in the world are turbos more of a risk? they are less of a risk. They are intercooled and dont run at idle like sc's do. And as for cooling them, its not hard to drill a hole in your oil pan.
